  • Last month I spent a few days in Armenia. I have to admit that January is not the best time of the year to visit the country. It was freezing cold, around minus fifteen degrees. Despite of the cold weather I was able to enjoy the capital of the country and a few other towns in the area. People call Yerevan a 'true jewel of early Soviet architecture’ and I guess this describes city very well. There are plenty worth visit tourist attractions in Yerevan like: Opera house, Republic Square, or The Cascades. I also made a few day trips and visited Garni Temple, Geghard Monastery and obviously famous Khor Virap, an Armenian Apostolic Church monastery located in the Ararat valley.
